The first Joint Championship Show was held at the new Kennel Club building at Stoneleigh park. A very nice venue with yummy bacon rolls for breakfast! The only downside was getting up at 4am because I thought we were going to Stafford!
Blaze was not show today and Bryn was a victim of the system where dogs and bitches are shown simultaneously in different rings!
Lorah's Girls Aloud at Henrix JW Winner of Graduate
Bitch (12 entries)
What a star - she loves the shows!
All exhibitors were given a commemorative ring clip and class winners had photos taken. Twigs looks gorgeous and the photos will be on here as soon as we get them.
We were pleased to find a temporary M & S building at our
usual stop on the way back, the building had been burnt out a few months ago.
A big thank you to Jon who only got back from his holidays the day before and
really would have preferred a lie in!
Picture above is the Graduate Bitch Class result, right is Twiglet posing for her critique!

Very nice to have the new in/out tents for all rings. The sloping ground makes showing very challenging and sometimes difficult for the handler. The slope is so steep in some places it's hard not to run down the hill!

A beautiful day for a show. The sun was shinning with a gentle breeze.

2nd Post Graduate Bitch (10 in class)
What a great result for little Twiglet. She is still only 20 months old and doing so well. She is a real show girl and loves being the centre of attention. Another Crufts 2011qualifying result for her.
Bryn showed very well but was unplaced today. Blaze and Bentley not showing just watching!
Left - Post Grad Bitch 1st-4th, below Jon and the young boys. Right Twigs with Windsor Castle in the background. Other pictures taken during a walk by the River Thames at Windsor, cooling off after the show.

A scorching hot day for Poole this year. I do wonder sometimes why the long/heavy coated breeds are not moved indoors when temperatures exceed the mid twenties. Some Papillons coped much better than others with the heat. Even Bryn, who loves the heat, was beginning to wilt, having waited 3 hours for the group!

Bryn was looking very glamorous and enjoyed himself showing
off today.
A little distracted when a pigeon landed in the ring (indoors) while he was
moving up and down in the challenge for Best in Show.
All three judges commented how well behaved he was on the table!
Picture below is the BIS challenge underway and below left is the Toy Group result.
Well done Bryn and Twiglet!

Not so hot today in the Malvern Hills but still very nice weather for showing. The ring surface was rather uneven making showing the dogs at their best quite a challenge.

We are looking forward to Blaze entering the ring soon.

A very early start to the day with the long drive northwards. The venue was nice and warm when we arrived and we were in a separate room with just 2 breeds so it was fairly quiet.
Neither Bentley nor Mia were shown today. Bryn was short listed in a very large Post Graduate Class.

A lovely sunny day and perfect weather for a boat trip to the Island.
As my back is still causing pain not all dogs were shown today. Fortunately it is only a 10 minute car ride to the ferry so I was able to manage the journey.

Not a good start to the day leaving my show jacket at home and two show leads! However it did not seem to matter. We had a lovely day and my back did not get any worse afterwards, well not much! First time we have had Easter eggs on the ribbons.

A day of very mixed emotions. The excitement of Twiglet getting 2nd in her class and the sadness of her breeder Carolyne, who died suddenly last week, not being there to share the day with us. Also struggling with my slipped disc meant that at times I was unable to show our dogs at their best.
Mia, Henrix Kiss Kiss, at 11 months did her best in what was for her a very scary environment.
Bryn Terfel of Ringland looked super but unfortunately I had so much pain at that time I could not walk him properly.
Lorah's Girls Aloud at Henrix JW placed 2nd in
Graduate Bitch (14 in class)
and she in still only 16 months old. She behaved perfectly and was a credit
to her breeder.
A lovely surprise was to meet Mike Philip over from the USA who has Twiglets sire, now an American Champion and working towards his Canadian Championship.

A miserable wet and windy day. Also I am suffering from a
slipped disc and dosed up with painkillers we set off for Maidstone. A tonic
just to out for the day!
It was an enjoyable show even though we were only showing 2 dogs - Lorah's
Girls Aloud at Henrix JW is in season and Red Bequest Ur Ringlands ShCM
was having a day off!

We are thrilled to have both Mia and Twiglet qualified for Crufts 2011 so early in the season.

We made it to the show despite the heavy snow here. No problems with the journey as all the main roads were clear. Our first time at this venue and every thing had been done to ensure the competitors had a good day. The car park and walkways were cleared and gritted and central heating turned up - the first time I taken taken layers off at a show!
