Poppy in her life jacket ready for a swim!
Poppy aged just over 4 months, 17/06/07.
3rd June 2007 Poppy has at last made significant progress walking on the lead. We have just been for our first proper walk!!! Well done Poppy. Now all we need is lots of practice and plenty of sausage!

Poppy is a very friendly little pap who wags her tail at everyone she meets. She really enjoys playing chase with the other paps in the garden. Like her mother she will seek out a lap to sit on.

5th July 2007 and Poppy is 5 months old today. She has grown into such a lovely little girl, we are very proud of her.

10th July 2007. Poppy is working hard learning to be a showgirl! We go for lots of walks on the lead and practice on the table each day. She is not keen on walking at ring craft so I will be carrying her round the ring at her first show!

11th July  2007. Last night at ring craft Poppy walked all the way round, up and down! Also the 'judge' was able to see her teeth. Penny came with us so maybe that helped. Another step on her journey to the show ring.

25th July 2007 and Poppy won the minor puppy class at ring craft, beating at least 10 puppies! She has a very nice silver cup and would like her tea served in it each day! See picture on the show page.

Poppy continues to grow into a beautiful butterfly. She ventured into the show ring for the first time on 24th September and did very well for her debut.

Poppy is the only one of our paps that loves to dig little holes in the lawn. Perhaps she is a budding gardener? Maybe she's digging for gold?

Congratulations to Poppy's sire now Irish and Japanese Champion Smile Line Cover Girl Immortal Gene.

Jan 2008. Poppy is now 11 months old and quite the little butterfly.

She is very much like her mother, completely scatty but a very loveable lap dog.

She has been lightly shown in the last few months and has been placed several times including a 1st place.

6 weeks old and Poppy is a delightful little character. She is very determined and stands up for herself. A happy little Papillon who loves attention from everyone. Her favourite toy is Penny's tail!

Henry is making a great surrogate dad and looks after Poppy if the others get too much for her.

Day 22 in the Papillon House, Poppy has taken her first solid food. She decided that it would be more fun to get in the dish than eat nicely. Penny certainly enjoyed cleaning her afterwards.

Day 23 and Poppy sometimes crosses her front legs when lying down, just like her mother. She is walking quite well now although going backwards is faster than forwards.

Day 24, Poppy has just eaten her first chicken meal. She has a very cute little bark! Poppy will soon be meeting the other paps.

Day 19 and Poppy is developing quite a personality. She chases Penny around to get her feed and will not be put off. Poppy is almost walking and very fast on the move. She can hear as she jumps if Penny barks. See video clip below.

3 weeks old. Poppy is just about walking today. She looks like a little dog now!

Poppy had her 2nd Vaccinations and went to her first ring craft on 18th April. She settled down very well and seemed to enjoy the evening. It was good for her to see other dogs and lots of people. It is the beginning of a long journey for her! (and us!)

We are going out each day in the car and to socialize Poppy. Poppy also enjoys playtimes with all the other paps now. She is learning to walk on the lead. Poppy will be 12 weeks old on Monday, how time flies!

2nd ring craft today, it was match evening, and Poppy won minor puppy! She liked seeing the other paps enjoyed being the centre of attention.

Poppy is now 12 weeks old and able to go out and meet lots of people and dogs. She loves playing in the garden and chasing Henry.

Table training is progressing well but walking on the lead is proving more of a challenge!

We are making some progress with lead training. House training is a little difficult due to all the rain - Paps do not like getting wet!

Nearly 7 weeks old, Poppy.

Day 16 and Poppy is almost standing, she is a very strong and determined little lady. Her fur is still gradually changing colour and is different each day. Poppy's eyes are fully open now.

Penny looks very bemused by this little puppy sometimes and seems to be saying 'where on earth did you come from?'

Poppy is now 8 weeks old, see picture left. She has had her first vaccinations and will be having the next ones in two weeks time. Her weight is now 1.2kgs. Henry and Poppy spend lots of playtime together. Penny is too posh to play with a baby and prefers to spend the days looking for her coat!

Easter Sunday and Poppy has her first proper bath. See below.

You are never too young to read the news!

Go on Mum let me win!

Will I be like you one day?

It does not seem possible that Poppy will be 6 weeks old in a few days. Time to think about vaccinations, socialisation and training!

Penny has very little tail left, can she get tail extensions?

I wonder if Poppy will be the same colour as Henry when fully grown, see picture right.

Day 27 and it is amazing how she gets around. She gets frustrated when planning to go in one direction and ends up going backwards.

Day 30 and the other paps get to meet Poppy, see pictures below.

Day 32. Poppy is enjoying playing with her toys. She also likes to chew fingers, the bars of the play pen and anything else that will fit in her mouth! Penny and Poppy like to play wrestle although I am a little concerned how much ear fringe Penny will have in a few weeks!

Day 35 and Poppy went outside today, carried of course! Her favourite foods are chicken and cod. Penny is almost back to her old self, as dotty as ever! New video clip to follow soon.
